CHAN(N)EL YOU - my very first Photoshop design EVER - explores the idea of identity. For this project, I chose to explore my identity as it relates to my very fair skintone. For many years, I wanted desperately to change this physical characteristic by any means: bronzer, tanning spray, tanning lotion, and by "forgetting" to wear sunscreen. In contrast, today I am proud of my skintone; it offers me a striking uniqueness from the masses of tanned individuals. To communicate this idea I created an image of myself that could blend in, embrace the fair background color, and expand beyond the mask of who I was told to be.
